Results from the .277 116gn Taipan. NOT BAD. A while ago I mentioned I was trying these out - well here it is. (to date) My load was; 55.5gn of H414. Fed #210 primer Norma brass. Seated standard length. (havent played with that yet) Accuracy was in the order of 1MOA - 5 shot groups. It was a very hot day when I tested them, and I wasnt in the shade. Had better results on a cool day firing 3 shot groups which were .5moa. Velocity was 3100fps. At 300yds the 130gn is doing the same with more punch anyway, so no gain there. The main thing was LIGHT recoil. Great load if youve got fairy mates who a scared of a bit of recoil. - or kids. Shot a red deer with this load the other day at 200yds. It died. Oh yeah. I was using a BARII 22" barrel. Any questions. Probably wont use these again. I just had 100 lying around so I thought Id get rid of them. Cheers. Happy New Year. | ||
