My rifle is a Kimber Montana 7mm08 My good loads are Barnes 120gr TSX & 46gr Varget (AR2208) for 3010 fps Barnes 140gr TSX & 50gr H4350 (AR2209) for 2883 fps Nosler 140gr AB & 50gr H4350 (AR2209) for 2840 fps Rem 140gr PSPCL & 50gr H4350 (AR2209) for 2793 fps Rem 150gr PSPCL & 43gr Varget (AR2208) for 2810 fps Nosler 160gr AB & 48gr Re19 for 2650 fps I also got exceptional accuracy with 139 gr Hornady out to 400 meters on the range. I just need to transfer my reloading logs on to the laptop. I am sure it was Varget and the load was not hot & the velocity was below 2800 fps. PM me for a spreadsheet of my loads. I also tried IMR3031, VVN160 & N150. My standard loads are now Varget or H4350 (AR2208 or AR2209) Very easy round to reload. Good accuracy in most loads - best around 0.75 inch. Many around the 1 to 1.25 inch marks. Even got a couple of 3 inch group at 300 meters! Great deer cartridge and the rifle is a real joy to carry in steep hill and dense bush country here in NZ. My favorite 7mm-08 load is from Ken Waters. 43.0 grains of WW-748 under a 139 grain Hornady spire point. I've been shooting that load in half a dozen 7mm-08s since 1991.

I just got off the phone with a buddy of mine who told me his son is in Colorado after Elk + he starts his hunt tomorrow morning using his 7mm-08. Not sure what his load is but he was using a 140 G. Sierra G.K. using H 4895 powder charge unknown. I wish the young man luck. Never mistake motion for action.
