Can anyone give me a good 8mm Rem Mag load? I'm open to all suggestions. Thanks!

For years I used 78 or 79 grains of H-4831 with either the Hornady or Sierra 220 grain bullets. Lately I've been using 80.5 grains of Reloader 25 and the Swift 220. These are pretty hot loads so treat them carefully. Joe.

I posted on the 8 Rem Mag thread in the medium section, but I'll post again here. 81 gr of H4831SC over 220 gr Hornadies. 3010 fps. - Dan

IMR 4831 works well with the 200 slugs .About 81 grs with the Speer and Partions. A grain or 2 less with the 200 gr Barnes X

Alliants powders seem to have an erratic burn rate they have had some warnings of late about fast lots of powder. I like them but be careful to use good reloading techniques when using them starting low and working up. I like RL 22 and 25 in my 8MM Remington Magnum along with Sierra 220 Gr. GameKings. The boat tails have less gliding metal touching the rifling and I found an extra 100 fps over other non Boat Tail type bullets. The RL-22 77.5 Gr. this is .5 over max but shows no signs of pressure in my gun shoots the 220 Sierra at 3006 fps. The RL-25 at 84.0 Gr. shoots the 220 Gr. Sierra at 3056 fps out of my gun. Using heavy bullets Id be very cautious working up my loads. But both of these shoot very well out of my rifle. I have never chornographed this same bullet in my rifle above 2900 fps without signs of pressure using 4831. I still have the 24 factory barrel. http://recipes.alliantpowder.com/rg.taf?_function=centerfire&step=2&bulletID=302&cartridgeID=1081&caliber=8mm&cartridgedescr=Rem%2E%20Mag%2E&bulletdescr=Hornady%20220%20Sp%2E%20Pt% 2E
