My go to load in my 14 twist, pac-nor on my savage model 12bvs-s is as follows...
Lapua brass neck sized with a .267 bushing for the .272 chamber..
Sierra 70gr. hpmatch bullets seated .010 off the lands. Which comes out pretty short over all (2.067) in my short freebore..
30.2grs. of H-322 powder..
CCI-br4 primers...
This load puts 5 shot groups in the 1"s in my other wise stock savage..tootalloutdoors

When I had my 6BR built this last year my intentions were soley for Predator Calling. My bullet of choice was the 65gr V Max since the Shilen barrel is 1:14. Super accurate load with 30gr H322. I already had two 22BR's and basically used the same loading from them for the 6BR. Minimal fur damage especially on bobcats. The 65gr pill will also lift a PD several feet in the air too!!!
I have thought about trying a few 70 BT's just for grins. They are very accurate in the Shilen 6mm Remington I had built.

How do the 22br's compare to the 6br? I'm thinking of another rifle build and was thinking of the 22br. I'm also thinking of another 6br with a 8 twist. I just like trying new things. tootalloutdoors

Love the 22BR. It is no speedster but super accurate and lots of fun on a PD town. Speed wise it is similer to a 22-250. I did load some up with 40gr Blitzkings and pushed them near 4k. They were just as accurate as my 52gr match bullets and a whole lot more fun to watch on impact. I friend had a 6BR built with 1:10 twist to shoot heavier bullets (80-100gr). It has been known to dump a deer or two from his nephews. If you are going to shoot 100gr or less the 10 twist is all you need.

Man! That sounds like too much fun!! I've never had the opportunity to go on a real varmint hunt. Maybe someday soon I'll have the chance to take a 6br out to a town! I've had alot of success with the 69gr. Burgers over 30grs. H322, CCI br4 primers and Lapua cases. Different setting depths for the different rifles. Each of the rifles I'm reffering to had Shilen 1-14 twist barrels. Mighty accurate smokepoles!

I had a 22 BR and still shoot a 6 BR. THe 6 BR is better in the wind a blows dogs up better. I have a brake on my 6 BR and get to see the show, air time and misses. I like the 6 BR better as there is no forming required. Down side is bullet cost.
