I just went out to the range yesterday to try this load again.I was playing around with different 85-87 gr bullets and powders.Sierra 85's have been pretty good to me. However, this is the second time I have been able to get one hole groups from the Hornady 87 gr at 100 yds. Load is 48gr of RL 19 with a Fed 210M primer. I haven't chrono'd it yet but 3200-3300 seems about right as it only drops 3" at 300 sighted 2" high at 100.I'll have to try this load on whitetails this fall. Maybe pronghorns if I can squeeze the money for NM.

Got to love that 6mm rem! My poison is a VVN160, WLR and 90gr nosler ballistic tip for 3,200fps. Shoots way flatter than the graphs say it should and is perfection for our little roe deer. Check out the BC on the 85gr Speer BT 0.404! Will have to try that one day. [ 07-04-2003, 18:59: Message edited by: 1894 ]

Rob, My 6mm Rem has a 1 in 8 twist, but I bought some of the 85 gr Barnes XLC with the blue coating on them. I used the powder that was recommended in an insert in the box and it was suppose to chronograph at 3500 fps, but my rifle actually chrono'ed it at 3699! several shots, all were over 3680. Long bullet also, looks real competent for game, and proved to be real accurate in my 6 mm. good luck

Rob; From your posted load, I was playing with a 6mm and a 115 grain Berger VLD bullet, seated way out to touch the rifling. I did try the RL 19 load and worked up to 46 grains with it. Accuracy was great and the velocity was over 3200 with this bullet. No pressure indicators at all. RL19 and H 4831Sc proved to be the most accurate powders for this bullet combo.
