Princess came down to the main corrals all by herself the other day which is not like her. My buddy went over to see what was up with her. It didn't take but a second to see when she turned her head and a 1/4 of it was pealed off and hanging. Panic mode vet calls and 3 hours and 70 some stitches later he had Missus Frankenstein back together again. I'll spare you the original pic and here are the finished work. The next morning and the second day. All fears of major nerve damage on the bottom lip are gone, she'll be back on the mountain again.

I know how this stuff goes, but do you have any idea what happened to her. A bunch of them could find a way to hurt themselves in a padded rubber room, but I was just curious. Glad she's fairing well.

daniel77 we were quick to get the other 15 back out of the back pasture we rent and down to the corrals. We went checking all the fences in the morning along with any equipment that's stored in area's they can access. We were perplexed at how the heck she had done this to herself as there was nothing out of the ordinary. Then my wife says take a look here at an old double wide that's been vacant for years. Like you said rubber room and a horse could still do damage. Somehow she broke a window and sliced herself up. Princess by some divine intervention came straight back down to the home place. 1 horse will give you fits but 15 will test your sanity. Just a couple weeks ago I had my new gelding cut a back leg up on some shale in the high country. Camped out with him after I doctored him up. Spent the next 3 days baby sitting him soothing him in the creek and doing little walks to help keep him limber in the heart of big bear country before he was good enough to limp him out the 14 miles. Got him home to find poor old Desi the retired race horse had gone to the big track at 22yrs old. They do test a range of emotions.
