Seeing as you all liked the last story, here is a tail of two horses. Trying to yard cattle in the middle of our Northern Territory, the dust was so bad I couldn't see half way to the horses head. I could hear cattle running to my left so set off to cover them. So, suddenly horse props. Bloody cheek I thought. Light touch of the spurs, no go. Something may have started to dawn on me because I streached forward , and felt, yep, a barbed wire fence. I gave the nag a pat and went back to the right. Nother time on a big but very young roan I cantered up to a wire gate. Started to step off by grabing some mane, just as we hit and bounced off. Dumb young horse had just been taught to answer the reins, and reckoned he didn't have to think at all. John the jackeroo. | ||
