In another post a member asks about muzzle brakes. Several responses indicate using them to sight in then removing and capping to hunt. I tried that and found my guns don't shoot to the same spot when changed. Anyone else find a different point of impact when the brake is removed?

They won't shoot to the same POA. The barrel harmonics are different with the brake on vrs. off. It should be close and most likely not far enough off to matter on big game like Buffalo but for brain shots on elephants I wouldn't trust it. Usually you can work up a load with the brake then shoot a group or two to re-zero and verify group size. You will be in the ball park. Leave the thread protector on and go hunt. I would always shoot a few groups without the brake if that is how you intend to hunt. Put a half filled bag of #9 lead shot between your shoulder and the recoil pad to help manage recoil if you must. JMO FWIW. John
