To whom it may concern....just saw a CZ 550 .458 Lott American Magnum for sale in the collectorsfirearms.com website. Listed as a fancy grade....asking price is $1295...just in case someone was really chomping at the bit to own one. They are located in the Houston, TX area.

I'm confused by these photos of the CZ550 American in .458Lott. The diagram at the CZUSA website shows the CZ550 Medium with two cross bolts. Then the Safari Magnum has only one cross bolt further back. Now the CZ550 American shows no cross bolts [and continues the fore end sling swivel mount] Is this progress? Are they reinforcing the rifle to handle the .458 Lott in some other way? Les

LHowell, I have not seen the cz in person, but the one on the website shows no crossbolts. I'm also curious as to what's going to hold the gun together on the heavy recoiling rifles. Maybe they adopted Rugers modification of a crossbolt? Anyone seen the Laminates? They look gross, IMO. Sevens
