Everything went well,I shot it open sights at 50yds. with Federal Premium 300gr Noslers. It seemed to be shooting point of aim instead of the books 6 O'Clock.
Recoil was very tolerable. If I worked the bolt fast and hard it threw the spent casing about 8ft. to my right slightly rear ward.
I only put 5rds. thru it as i couldn't see the 1" Bull at 50yds very good.Yes Im need glasses in the worst way (they are coming)
But anyway everything seemed ok! the only thing i saw that was a little outta the way was the primer was hit slightly off center but I guess that don't matter as i have several other guns that hit slightly off center too.

rws2,

I've got one in 458 Lott. So far my experiences mimic yours.

I was wondering if you could do me a favor.

Can you dry fire your rifle and look closely at the bolt handle? On mine I see a slight rotation of the bolt to the left (counter-clockwise as your looking down the rifle).

I'm just wondering if this is normal.

Are you going to scope the rifle? If so what are you going to put on it?

Thanks!!

Steve,

Yep it does just like yours and rotates slightly to the left when I dry fired it.

My eyes keep telling me scope! I'm at present planning to mount a Leupold Vari X III 1.5-5 on it.

Thanks!!

I have a Vari-X III 1.75-6 on my .375. I think you'd be happy with either.

I'm thinking of a fixed 2x on my Ruger.

Thanks a bunch. You've eased my mind a bit.

rws2,
On my Ruger 375, I had to replace the original front sight blade as it was shooting way to high. Ruger sent me a lower one for free. No it shoots about 1" high at 50 yards and right on the money at 100 with the fixed blade. Using the first flip up blade I can hit the 200 yard "gong" consistently, and using a rest and the 2nd flip up sight, the 300 yard "gong" is not a problem. I have a NECG 3/32" white bead ordered, but they are back logged. I've shot five boxes of shells through it so far, and hope to scope it next week with a Leupold 1.75-6Ex32 I received for Christmas. For a sling, I intalled a Dick Murry "A-1" sling. I am very pleased with this rifle.

Oh forgot about the group! Well I fired 3 shots at 50yds. using a fence post as a rest. I fired at a1" bull but it was too small for me to get a good repeatable sight picture.Anyway I fired 3 times and then went to see where I hit at.2 hole were about and inch apart and the other about 3 inches below the others which made it shooting point of aim.

I backed up to 25yds. and shot 2 rds. quick offhand at the same bull 1 hit with the 2 together the other was about 3 inches to the right. So basically the bead is covering the impact point.

I'll shoot it somemore another day and see just how it shoots.
