I just purchased a used Remington 700 in 375 HH. It is the strangest 375 Ive seen in a while. It has a 24" bull barell that must be an inch thick. It appears to be magnaported. I say this only because the small slits are similar to theirs. It is on what appears to be a remington factory stock but has a custom recoil pad fitted to it. I really dont need the gun but was drawn to it for some reason. Anyone see anything like this come out of the factory? Oh yea it was $650.00 [ 12-09-2002, 02:29: Message edited by: Mike Smith ]

I handled a 458 at the range about a year ago that "resembled" this one, except the porting. it was a rem custom shop deal... HUGE barrel, nicer wood bdl stock, nice pad, GREAT trigger. Very accurate, and, i think the fella paid around what you did. best of luck jeffe

since most big bores in the usa are used for cans and paper the extra weight could be a advantage. but if you desided to use it for hunting it wont be excedingly heavy either

Thanks Jeffe, I figured it had to be a custom shop job but hadnt seen anything like it with that barrell. My wife said it best, " Dont you already have guns in that caliber? What do you need that for?" Typical but in this case she is right. I still wanted it for some reason. Oh well can you ever really have too many? I havent seen any posts from your "friend" in awhile or have I missed something? BPBB, HEll yes I will hunt with it I shoot everything I own even the collectible stuff. It certainly wont weigh anymore than the 458 loaded up. [ 12-09-2002, 02:59: Message edited by: Mike Smith ]
