Sarge knows how to make a double, 450 N2, cheap is my guess.

Darn he had to remind me about it...

CZ's 505 Gibbs, if they really come out with, might be a real good answer...

Horneber makes headstamped brass and it's available from Huntington's. So are the dies. However, I've never bothered with headstamped brass, I just get Norma .416 and neck it up.

I've loaded all mine in a RCBS Rockchucker, including crimping. The feeding of the first one from the magazine is a little catchy but after that those huge rounds slam in and out like they were greased. Magazine holds 4+1. That's a lot of firepower . . . for a shoulder fired weapon, of course.

I load 105 gr. of IMR 4350 behind a 500 gr. Hornady for 2280 fps and about 5770 ft.lbs.

Socrates has hit the bull, old man. Now that 've got m'proper pith helmet and am lookin' for a monocle, a double rifle with hammers is an absolute fashion requirement.

Sarge:

I gather this gun feeds properly. Sarge, how's the brass avaliablity? Dies? What press do you guys use for these giant cartridges?

Ray: What loads, powders, and results have you got out of the Lott, and what barrel did you use?

Thanks

That's our friends home protection rifle, and I would NOT want to get one, or both barrels.s

Phew! Even in 45/70 that would be one major ow-ie! The PSYOP effect is cool, too. Imagine facing that pair of sewer pipes at 2:00 a.m. Sarge's First Law of Personal Protection: The bigger the hole in the end of the muzzle, the less likely you are to need to pull the trigger.

Went up one night, and sort of got a real good look. I agree with your theory, and I REALLY like the external double hammers, so you don't have to worry about internal
cocking.

By the way, my idea of self-defense starts at 45 Super, so I think we are on the same wave length as for defense theories. I also tend to like stainless, becuase it makes the whole LOOK bigger...

The problem then would be that it will be too long to fit in a CZ550/Brno 602 with a 500gn bullet. If you go for the 460 Weatherby case ,then you can only get 3 in the mag. At least with the Lott ,it will fit in a cheap rifle ,cases are available and you can get 5-6 in the mag plus 1 in the spout.
If it is a ruger No1 ,then I would love to rechamber a 458 into a 450NE No2. A nice big long case.

Sorry CR500
do you mean 6 Lotts in a BRNO 602? I didnt think they held that many?
