I was in a Spokane gunshop yesterday and the guy behind the counter told me that the new Winchester catalog indicates that the Mod 70 Classic Safari Express Left Hand is listed as available in 416 Rigby. Does anyone know if this is true? Availability?

Seems really unlikely, as they don't make any right-hand guns in .416 Rigby. And the normal receiver isn't long enough. Etc. As I've been suffering with the same problem, my research led me to buy a .375 LH now that they are available. I suggest that you consider doing the same. They won't last forever, and it may be a l-o-o-o-n-g time before they build any more. Or just buy a LH anything, and get a 'smith to convert it to .416 Remington/Taylor/etc. I had one do that for me; made a LH .30-06 into a .458 Lott. Wasn't cheap, but he did a very good job. Now I've got a LH "medium" (.375), and a "big" (.458 Lott). Pertinax

Antlers: I have a copy of the 2002 Winchester catolog, and there is NO left hand .416Rigby listed. My suggestion would be; find a L/H .300 or .338 and pull the bbl, and build a .416 Taylor. JLS
