I shamelessly borrowed this from the Smith-Wesson forum, in the other makes firearms section. I just thought this was very interesting and shows what a great gunsmith Fred Wells was.

Fred made these in the 70s/80s - well, he and his shop team, and machined them out from a billet -- it's not not not a mauser, but there's likely some patent infringement
