I found out today that somebody out there makes uppers for the AR in 50 Action Express, and also in 50BMG.
Can anybody out there point me in the direction of those who manufacturer such wonderful devices.
Thank you in advance.

.50AE? Are you referring to the Alexander Arms .50 Beowulf? It's based on the .50AE; longer case, rim
rebated to 7.62x39 size. It pushes a 325gr JHP at 1900FPS, which is well above the .50AE's 1350FPS for the same round. Gunworld had an article on it back in October...

Tony Tromix, http://www.tromix.com ,makes the .50AE and .458SOCOM as well as other uppers for the AR. Very, very cool.

Go to http://www.ferret50.com to find single shot .50BMG uppers for AR-15's. Also Watson's Arms? Weapons?, not sure of the name. They make a different style of .50BMG upper. There was one for sale on the Classified board not too long ago.

The Alexander Arms .50 Beowulf cartridge packs awesome power in the AR-15 system. Think of it as a lightweight, handy, semi-auto .45/70 but with a larger diameter bullet and greater velocity. The .50 Beowulf uses a bullet of a true .500 caliber, with loaded ammunition offered from the factory in either a 400-grain soft point or a 325-grain hollow point, with velocities listed at 1800 and 1950 feet-per-second, respectively. This kind of power radically changes the performance aspect of the AR-15 type rifle while retaining the excellent handling and shooting qualities of the weapon. The .50 Beowulf cartridge utilizes possibly the maximum diameter bullet in the biggest case that can be made to reliably function in an AR-15, while operating at a relatively low pressure to assure smooth operation and longevity of the rifle.

Some other .50BMG choices include ALS and MMAG. The MMAG (www.mmag.biz) is from our unstable friend Mark Serbu (www.serbu.com) and goes for around a grand. I'm very interested in that one...
