Great news Rob, Do you have the Borchard action yet or are you planning on going with the McBros? Right now I'm leaning to the McBros single shot right bolt left port. Do you plan on having T1 ready for the August FCSA shoot? I can bring my fork lift down to get it from the semi to the bench if you want All kidding aside, I'll get to the barrel clamp once the steel arrives. It should be fun to see it in action. I'm hoping to make it in August. Should feel like a heavy barrel 223 going off. All except for the muzzle blast that is. John

Rob, What will then length and diameter of your 12 GAFH be? Are you using the Borchardt action for that one? If I had a 12 GAFH, I imagine myself grouse hunting with it in the evergreens near a mountain peak with 1 1/8 ounce of no. 7.5 shot loads. But then I see a coyote sauntering across the opposite ridge 1200 yards away. So I put my Leupold 8.5-25x Mildot scope on with quick release rings, pull out the shotshell, and stuff in a 12GH cartridge that pushes a 1200 grain pointed brass bore rider at 3000 fps. From a prone position resting over my backpack, I guess the wind right and the coyote's career of harassing sheep is over. Off with the scope, in with a shotshell, and the grouse hunt resumes. That will be the only 1200 yard rifle with a shotgun bead at the end of the barrel.

Borchardt has the action almost done and I have the reamer. As soon as I get the barrel from Pac-Nor I'll ship it out. Borchard will fit the barrel and I have some nice walnut for the stock. I'll do that part myself. I have cases ready so it should not be long now. Boy those 2 inch 12 Bore barrels were hard to make! Thanks to pac-nor for persevering. Not many companies would have gone this far for a customer.-Rob

I assume your using a P-14 bolt. You will have to also cone the rear of the barrel to get adequate clearance for the extractor, thus deepening the chamber was a real good decision. You'll need to be very careful in fitting that barrel to your action. Keep the extractor cut to a minimum and do it last. I would start by taking lots of careful measurements, then threading the barrel shank and coning the breech. Adjust headspace by cutting the primary torque shoulder. With the headspace set and the barrel torqued into the action, I'd mark the extractor position and cut a extractor groove on the mill. This whole process could get pretty hairy depending on how deep the chamber was cut. There is a reason why custom Enfields are so expensive!-Rob

Kudos to Chris and the people at Pac-Nor who have stayed the course on this project!-Rob

I sent my 600 OK barrel back to them for a bit of work. I got lucky and when my barrel was there they noticed it needed to be chambered a bit deeper for an enfield the lucky part was they said the reamer was there at the time so they could fix me up. Hope to have the barrel back soon. Dean
