Saeed, I agree that was a dead, rotten tree, but watching that boomer in recoil reminds me of a guy I know from the UAE who likes to let unsuspecting visitors shoot his T-REX ...

That is bullshit Bill.
The tree was rotten and would have fallen if you pushed it
I found a sandstone, roughly 2 feet by may be a bit more.
I had a Ruger #1, which we had converted from 458 Winchester to 460 Weatherby.
I had factory ammo with Hornsby solids.
I thought I would blow that to smithereens.
Stood a few yards away and shot it.
Nothing happened.
The bullet hardly penetrated a couple of inches!!
And that was not an intelligent thing to do.
Found what looked like an airborne bomb.
It was in an area the air force used to practice on.
It was about 2-3 feet long.
All I had was a center fire 22.
Shit it a few times.
Nothing happened.
I lived about 40-50 kilometers from there.
And the largest caliber I had was a 375 H&H.
Off back to the house, driving at break neck speeds as we had no radar or speed limits
Got my 375H&H and 300 grain solid factory ammo.
I fired a shot at the bomb.
Bullet went in, and trail of smoke started coming out!
A great disappointment!

I was walking down a beach in Alaska many years ago and found an entirely rust covered gas cylinder that I assume was swept off a fishing boat. I assumed it was likely either oxygen or acetylene but there were zero readable markings. I had a 44 mag on me and a 30-06 with a zillion tracers a 10 mile walk away. I thought long and hard about both options, but in a rare moment of maturity decided to leave it alone. On my next trip through that area it was gone.
I still have regrets.
