Just shot a deer and a moose with Speer's 350 gr. Mag-Tip in my 416 Remington Mag. Performance was very good. The deer was taken at 60 yards, quartering towards. Actually made a poor shot, as I thought it was broadside. Hit the back half of one lung, blew the liver to mush, and exited the rear rib cage(after going through some stomach) [Roll Eyes] Deer went 15 steps, then all 4 feet were in the air. Wound showed good expansion, and left a nice sized exit hole. Not bad for a skinny 180 lb. deer.

The moose was taken broadside at 100-125 yards. Hit high in the lungs, a few inches below the spine. Exited the same spot, just 4 inches behind the shoulder. Moose went about 15 steps as well before tipping over. Huge entrance, centered a rib, big hole, stick your fist through it, then mushed the lungs, and exited between 2 ribs, 2" exit or so.

Missed a bear too, hit a tree with my shot. Bullet went through a 8" pine. then 3" into another. It was a picture perfect mushroom, and retained 75% of it's weight.

Great bullet!

Todd,
Glad to hear it, since I recently bought 350 of those bullets. That ought to be enough to work up a load and have some left over for hunting. Congratulations on your immediate successes afield.

Thank you for the report Todd. I have tried and tried to get a field report on that bullet and with just 2 exceptions, it has turned into a discussion(pissing match) about something else. I will use it for deer this fall as well.

I got some of these for my Taylor to use for black bear, and feel totaly confident even though I have yet to kill with it yet. Best part is they are the cheapest bullet I can find, and they work well.
