Glad to see 1000 was reached. Naturally now want to know a probable delivery date. Weeks? Months? Am glad that Jeffe put this together and don't want to be a pest about delivery, just looking for a general idea.

Gibbs beats Jeffery, who would have guessed?

NOW I have an excuse to get me one of those MTM double-decker 20-gauge boxes and pull out the top deck and fill it up with rounds and just STARE at it.... heh, heh, heh...

I am tallying, as one person wrote me under the wire, and I am waiting a couple days, but this will NOT impact our deal.

As I asked when I started this, it could take awhile. Dieter told me 2.5 weeks ago that this could be may for the 500 and june for the 505, and we'll do one shipping cost.

My poor 20 pieces of jeffe will be totally wore out by then.

So, when I can get the details for PLACING the final order, I'll deposit the checks/MOs (they are in my gunsafe) and we'll move on.

Thanks guys!!

I have all the details FINALLY worked out.
The funds will be sent today for our brass.

No real delay in delivery, as we are dependant on his runs for delivery.

I'll contact everyone when we get closer

Considering my barreled action was at the smiths for ~2 1/2 years, I can handle 7 months for more brass [Big Grin] The only downside is I'll have no excuse for not getting around to stocking it.

Glad to hear of some progress on these. The folks at Huntington's told me they have been waiting over two years for .450 #2 brass.

I was just going to use the one box of Bertram brass I have until Huntington's got some in. Had not really looked at what else 450 NE #2 can be formed from. 470 is a bit too short.
By the way, I certainly echo DMC's comment above!

Jeffe--The 470 brass would have to be sized
down .008 at base.Could fix them on my case lathe.
They would be short, but if you expanded them
out to a straight sides first, then take the
.008 of of base closes to rim, and resize with
an open top sizing die(no shoulder in die) to
set the base dimensions, they will lengthen a bit.
You would then put them in regular sizing die and
load.Won't have to trim for length even if fired
50 times.470 base is .572---450 #2 base is .564.
470 nominal length is 3.25--450 #2 length is 3.5.
And they will be just as strong as 470's.The secret is to remove the small amount of brass needed to get down to size, just ahead of rim,
rather than try to push it against rim.Ed.

Jeffe,
Ditto DaveC's support. We appreciate you doing the leg work and frustration. One thing these big guns,(and double rifles),have taught us is patience.
Thanks again

Jeffe,

Have the goodies showed up yet? I thoght manyana was a Spanish word, not German [Wink]

For the price, and Hornbears reputation, it should be worth the wait. Then again, I as you would go 500 A2 on another go around. But, with the investment in dies and brass, and pre-chambered Lothar Wolther barrels, a second 500J does become tempting.

I'm having Mr Ricks assemble a 458 lott for me, need something common I can throw in an existing stock, and get bullets and brass locally.
