Ray,

Did you send your .470 Searcy double rifle back to Butch, to have him "trim it up a little"? I thought I heard you mention something like this a while back.

If you did - what are you having him do to it?

Thanks

Yes I did and he did a real nice job on it..He owed me some money on a gun trade, I suggested he do this and keep the money, so we called it even...Butch and I been trading and selling guns back and forth for many years...

Could you tell us what you had Butch do to the rifle? How much does your 470 weigh now?

He just cut the grip down thin and re checkered it....I have a big hand but short fingers, more like a paw...and it feels much better.

I handled Ray's Searcy PH, and it felt exactly like my old Britt doubles! For some reason rifles that fit Ray seem to fit me perfectly. Ray is probaly six foot, two, and I'm only five foot , nine. We probably weigh close to the same, because I'm fat, and he's not!

The PH model is a lot slimmer, and, to me, points much better than his older rifles. One thing you can count on is, the accuracy you will get in one of Butch's rifles, will not be topped, no matter how much money you spend on a double rifle! His rifle will handle Monolithic solids, though I wouldn't use them in one I owned. Butch says they do no damage to his rifles, if that is something you might want to use in a double. Butch is only a phone call away!

A friend of mine in Victoria just got back from Africa where his brand new Searcy .411 caliber 450/400 3 inch aquitted itself very nicely on a variety of game including elephant.

I'm trying to get him to post a report!
