Quote: Get some brass from Dieter Horneber in Germany http://www.huelsen-horneber.de/frame_engl.html And Die-set from either Rcbs or Triebel. Find out what tool that was used for making your chamber and get at die-set from that company. Cheers, Andr

Quote: Gezzzzzzzzzz Paul your using a 500 Jeffery's to shoot deer ![]() Did some deer in a past life really upset you ![]() Hell if you like i could snail mail you some 1000 grain .700 Bullet's so you could do them up right ![]() but your going to need the 700 Nitro to use them ![]() What deer are there in Alaska that require a freaking monster rifle to kill. ![]() the last few i shot up there on the island were 4 point and a forked horn and both of them i could have fit inside my over night luggage. Next thing you guy's are going to be using are small boulder's rolled from the top's of cliff's -squish- ![]()

Paul, The 450 Barnes Originals grenade at a muzzle velocity of ~ 2200 fps when they hit a pine 4X4, at least mine did. Loaded in a 50 Beowulf (after being turned down to 0.500 and then weigh 443 gr) they did very nice at ~ 1500 fps, busting through railroad ties with ease! The 535 gr Woodleigh SP hold up well even on head shots up to ~ 2400 fps. I really see no need, other than economic, for using a bullet lighter than the Woodleigh 535 gr. It, the 535 gr Woodleigh will work GREAT on deer, bear, elk, moose, buffalo, cats, dogs, mice, squirrels, rabbits, etc, etc, etc. ASS_CLOWN

AC I developed up that load without a chrono. I will clock the loads this weekend with my new chrono. I did shoot 10 rounds of the 120 grn loads and the recoil was nice and stiff ![]() I just want to se what a 120 grn load will do What I am looking for is 2300-2400 fps with the 535 woodleigh bullet and 2400-2500 with the impala bullet. My home-made bullets (500 grn) will be tested at both 2300 and 2400. Cheers, Andr

100 gr of Varget or RL 15 will push a 535 gr to 2200 fps. It's a fine enough deer load, and not to abusive on the shoulder. This is with Star brass, I haven't worked up loads in the Hornbear brass. I wonder what velocities those bullets are designed for, they might be designed around some of the older black powder rounds, and hence might expand a bit more then desired @ 2200 fps. If you want some fun practice loads, get some ~450 gr cast pistol bullets and load them over 30 gr Unique for ~1200 fps.
