Anyone using a scope or a red dot sight on their 505 Gibbs? I'm about to take the plunge and was just wondering...

Thanks,

Chuck

Robgunbuilder, I couldn't find a Leupold 1.5 compact. I have the 1.5 - 5x 20mm on my 375 H&H is that the same scope? If not what is the eye relief on your scope.

Thanks much,

Chuck

Talley rings and mounts hold a Leupold 1.5 x5 Heavy Cross Hair VX-III and interchange with a Leupold LPS 2.5 x 10 with German #4.
Both scopes are zeroed at 75 yards with 525 gain at 2,300 fps ammo.
The big scope is needed for stalks to the hippo pool and then finding the need to brain a Nile Croc.
This is a client's gun and not a PH setup.
Sincerely,

Thanks all, sorry for the misread on the 2.5 ... I have a Leupold 1.5 - 5x VX-III now with Talley QR rings so that should do it. I was thinking a 600g Woodleigh PP at 2150 fps would be a reasonable load.

Chuck
