Does anyone have any info on this rifle builder? Cheers, Mark. The name of the guy who built your rifle was Rassie Erasmus, he was only in operation for about two or three years, his shop was on a smallholding at Bredell, near Kempton Park in South Africa. That is near OR Tambo Int. Airport. Most of his rifles had Blenheim sights on, it resembles anti-aircraft sights. He did build a few rifles for some company in the UK, but I can not remember the name. Not sure if he used the Orion name on them. If you need more info, I will ask around. Regards

I see what you mean by the sights. Nice looking rifle! How are those sights to shoot with? Phil Shoemaker : "I went to a .30-06 on a fine old Mauser action. That worked successfully for a few years until a wounded, vindictive brown bear taught me that precise bullet placement is not always possible in thick alders, at spitting distances and when time is measured in split seconds. Lucky to come out of that lesson alive, I decided to look for a more suitable rifle."

The quarter rib looks very nicely done. Would you post another picture of it. It looks like the ones that Mauser uses and they are my favorite.

It's different than what I was thinking of but that is a spectacular rib. You have a rifle to be proud of in a great caliber. Now you are gonna make me research Orion rifles.
