Hello all,

Just thought I'd pose a question that's no doubt been hashed and rehashed before. Nevertheless, I'm about to embark on emptying the safe and oiling up the masses and was interested in what might be the various favorite applications for rust prevention?

Thanks in advance,

Reed

[Edit: opps, I had meant to put this in gunsmithing. I'll repost there too]

Birchwood-Casey SHEATH for guns in use. R.I.G. for guns in long-term storage.

Silicone in a can. Spray it on a rag and wipe the firearm down. Doesnt seep into the wood or wipe off the metal like oil.

I second RustePrufe for day to day use. (Yeah, that's how it's spelled). It has served me well here in coastal Texas for 20 years on guns I regularly use and clean. I think something stronger is needed for long term storage out of sight.
