| I have a 3min Lee Dot on a 4x Leupold. It s fine in the bright light and very fast. In the shade or at dusk it is hard to pick up. I think that on a buff in the shade you would want something else.
As an aside. Do the 2.5x Leupolds have a longer body and more eye relief than the 1.5x4? |

Red, I had an old M8-3x scope I liked a lot and sent it to Leupold to have a dot reticle installed. They even had a choice of dot size and I like the scope even better now. I think they re-built the scope even as adjustments tightened up and it seemed brighter. If you like a dot reticle as I do, I highly recommend it. BigRx |

| I have a dot in a 2-7 Leupold. I don't like it. I much prefer the duplex. |

| See these Leupold reticles and consider one of the German types esp #4. I have one on my .458Win, it really draws your eyes to the dot and allows the entire top half of the field to be open. |

Couldn't agree more. If it was "new", everyone would rave over it. John L. |

| I have shot a lot with dots in competition and hunting small game. I would not want one for big game, especially dangerous game. This is a purely personal thing and there is no right answer. THe heaviest German #1 post is one of my favorite reticels to put in a DG rifle. I shoot this best on running game, especially in brush.
BTW-I have Premier Reticle install my dots and other reticles. FAAAAAAR better than dealing with Leupold. |
