Hello everyone, I did a search but could not find any information regarding anyone using 270gr Barnes Banded solids in .375 caliber. I'm curious on actual result, preferably while hunting dangerous game. What kind of penetration was noticed, velocity involved etc. Thanks in advance, Maurice

Enigma, I have no first-hand experience either, but when I was wondering the exact thing I phoned down to Barnes and asked them. The answer I got was that not only can you drop down to 270gr in .375, 350 in .416 and 450 in .458, you really should. I was told to expect more penetration with the lighter Banded Solids. I know 300 grain Banded solids whistle through a giraffe like it isn't even there, but that is the extent of my .375 experience with these bullets. I intend to go back to using 270 grain TSXs in my .375s instead of the 300s and will use the lighter solids to go with them.

Thanks for the reply Dogleg, I know that the 300gr solids are king in the H&H for buffalo and such DG but I was curious to know if people who used the 270gr Barnes Banded solids actually pushed them to an honest 2700fps or downloaded them to 2400 fps... I must have to much time on my hands! Cheers, Maurice
