I currently load for a .577 3" BPE. I'm interested in a single-shot .577 2-3/4" and I am wondering if I can use the same dies? (e.g., loading .38 specials in .357 mag dies.) Thanks!

I suspect you will not be able to crimp your shells because you cannot screw the 3" die down in far enough.

But you could load 3" shells in the 2.75" dies.

Maybe you can just buy a crimp die from www.ch4d.com and save the cost of a whole new die set.
