Palladin8Ruger African rings
Gents I have a Ruger M77 African model in 375 Ruger. The factory 1" rings are fine for the 1-4 scope that is currently on it. However I just picked up a Nikon inline 3-9x40 scope with 5" of eye relief so I can stretch the legs a bit. When I tried to mount the new scope it didn't fit. The rear mount was up against the adjustment ring and the front mount was on the bell. I have looked online and didn't see an offset ring that allows me to shorten the distance between rings.
I'm not a fan of one piece bases like a picatiny rail as it will interfere with loading of the rifle. They also raise the scope higher than I want for my cheek to stock weld.
Does anyone have any suggestions on rings? Or should I return the scope and go a different route?
Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

.366torque Damn fine stuff!! They work, very well. Alaska Arms rings and you can use your open sights.

Palladin8They look nice but I don't think that they will fit. Think I need an offset rings.
This should work:
"Offset Medium Scope Ring with a Stainless Finish. Designed to fit a scope with a one-inch scope tube diameter and a 42MM objective diameter and allows for rearward positioning of the scope. Sold individually."
$39.95

Above is called a "4BO" and is used to replace the front ring you have now (4B) and you may continue to use the 5B rear ring you have now.
Assuming yours are stainless, finish might match. Blued finish also available.
And you will not get anything stronger or better than the standard Ruger rings with "big coin" left over in your pocket.
And carry a "big coin" in your pocket to use as a quick-detachable QD lever.
So nice as it is snag-free in dense brush, won't snag clothing or bite a hand.

416TanzanI think that you have made an excellent choice for your scope.
Nothing is more solid, and the glass is excellent, and the eye-relief could not be better for helping a shooter relax and shoot her best. Below is a picture of my wife shooting her 375 Ruger. The scope is the Nikon 3-9 Inline with 5" eye-relief. She likes it a lot. Her eyebrows remain sweet and unscarred. The rings are exactly as RIP posted above. The offset stainless 4BO by Ruger in the front notch. We ordered it from the factory at the same time as we received the rifle.
If you look carefully, the background light shading shows the full five-inch eye-relief between the scope and her eyes, even though it is set at 9-power.

Palladin8416Tanzan reading your posts on here is what turned me onto the Inline scope. I was looking at other scopes and nothing had the same amount of eye relief. I am hoping to use the rifle this year if I draw a bull elk tag. This is why I am wanting more magnification.
I just noticed that your wife has the bolt on the proper side of the rifle.
