I found that wearing a PAST pad off the bench would allow me to shoot 20-30rds of 416 Rem vs 10-15 without it. It also helps me shooting a 45-90 in BPCR competition. Now off the bench I use a Lead-Sled and love it. Try the pad and I'll bet you'll love it....DJ

I've been using one for years, and it does a good job.

I've been using them for years. They're wonderful, especially when trying to sight in the boomers.

When used with a good recoil pad, they will help tame the big bores nicely.

I never used one for the many years that I have shot, and a lot of that has been off the bench.
When we started load development for our .416 Rigby and .458 Lotts, Mike and Tye were using one. I teased them about using a 'sissy pad'. After a couple of times on the bench with my Rigby, I got a sissy pad!
I use mine at every session on the bench that I shoot anything larger than a .223. My theory is simlpy this. The less trauma my shoulder receives, the longer I can use it. I don't use the one that you have looked at, but have the one that is one size down. The big ultra magnum pad was not available. I did get one of those for my wife since her big gun is a .300 Win. Mag. She had breast cancer and surgery on the right side and MUST protect that arm at all cost.

I feel that it is a good investment and possibly the best $30 you will spend on your shooting.
