Shootaway gradually and with patience and training pools will be closing their circulation. You will see.

No foulers. First shot counts!

Just a little sight adjustment and "dead on".

Impact point also depends on the shooter: Some gents use a center hold, some use a 6 O'Clock bottom hold. And a few use something different.

Shootaway, if I understand your description correctly you seem to shoot better off hand than off the bench. That is very impressive!

I have shoot off hand compation for about 10 years, (small bore and highpower Metalic shilo). It is not common for anyone's off hand zero and benchrest zero to be the same. Other than load developement and intial sightin, we would adjust sights for off hand then stay off the bench. I do the same on my hunting rifles, Once I get my off hand zero, I check the bench to see where I am incase I have a need to rest a rifle during a hunt.

In my case if I slide the rest all the way back near the magazine, I will get closer to my off hand settings from the bench, but still need to adj a click or two. Some shooter are qone or two moa's off, mostly high,

If I am 1 moa off at a 100 then I am the same at two hundred etc.

George your group at 50 looks to be 4 moa high, you need to hang onto the rifle and follow through better.

JD,please ignore the three small holes on top of the target they are not from my rifle. The two shots to the left of the bullseye are my two offhand shots.

Then thats not so bad, 1 inch high at 50 is 2 moa , 2 shoots in 2 inches is about 4 moa with irons, thats not to bad, keep at it you will do better. At my best I could hold 2 moa out to 500 with a 2 oz trigger and a 36x scope. I was sending 2000 rounds of 260 rems down range and 3 or 4 times that in 22 lr every year for a while.

shootaway,

If you can shoot 1.5" groups at 50 yards offhand, please come up here to Camp Perry and the Nationals. You will easily win the National Championship.

Actually, we know that 2 shots is nothing but a fluke. Having watched your video, I'd be surprised if you could put 10 into a garbage can lid at 50 yards.

With my new shooting technique I should be able to put them all in or near the bullseye-seriously.I have always wanted to go to Camp Perry and will probably go within the next two or three years.I have done a fair amount of shooting over the years all offhand.

George, if you really want to get good, quit reinventing the wheel and take some lessons. A good shooting coach can shave 3-4 years of wasted time and ammo off the effort.

"Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.

I couldn`t do that even if I wanted to and I don`t.Finding a place near the city where you can shoot a rifle offhand is impossible.Last time out I was only allowed to shoot two rounds.
