I'm looking for some suggestions for loads for my 375 H&H. I'm an infrequent reloader and don't have time for much trial and error. I'll likely buy some powder and bullets and stick with them. I'd like to come up with two loads, a softpoint and a solid. I'd like to get both to shoot to about the same point of impact. My initial thoughts are to use 4350 powder (also works for my 30-06), and the Nosler partition 300 gr. I'm still deciding on a good solid (Hornady?). Any suggestions on the solid and some good, consistent loads would be appreciated. By the way, the rifle is a cz550.

80gr. IMR 4350, W-W cases, Fed 215 primers and 300gr. Swift A-frame. This load has worked well for me in several 375's and also was a real tack driver in my friend's CZ. In the long CZ barrel the load gave right at 2600fps. There are several good solids out there but you'll have to see which one works in your rifle. The general rule of thumb is that the solids because they are longer usually operate better at a grain or 2 less powder than your soft point load.

I have had good luck with:

Nosler Partition 300 gr
Win 760
78.0 gr
Win case
Fed 215 primer
2510 fps (chronographed)
23" barrel

This load was somewhat more accurate than my IMR 4350 loads and less compressed. Others on this board have had very good luck loading the 300 gr Nosler Partition with RL 15 but for some reason, my gun didn't group as well with it. Try a search and you will find "loads" of information on the 375 H&H.

I just happen to be currently working up a 300 grain load for my .375HH. I'm using H4350 because it also works so well in my .30-06.

So far here's what I've got:

Bullet: 300 grain Partition
Powder: 74 grains H4350
Brass: W-W
Primer: WLR
OAL 3.580"

I'm getting consistent 1.5" groups @ 100 yards with a completely stock M70 SE & VariX III 1.5-5x scope.

My next step is to use my poor man's chronograph & see if this load is anywhere around 2500 fps mv.

I posted this in the Reloading Forum too:OK, here's a load that worked for me with 300gr Hornady RNs and solids ( the old kind) Swift A FRames, Nosler Partitions and Barnes Xs. 2550 fps out of a Mod 70 Winchester.

Winchester Brass
Fed 215 Primer
Absolutely no pressure problems in weather ranging from 35 deg to 105 deg inZimbabwe. 3/8" groups@ 100. jorge

This load is a tackdriver in my gun, also a ZKK 602: 270 grains Speer SP, 72.0 grains I.M.R. 4350, Federal 215 primer. O.A.L. 91 millimeters.Cronographed velocity is 2.700 f.p.s. at the muzzle. Barrel lenght is 25.5 inches.

Sorry, charge is 82.0 grains.

I always liked 414 and 760, both the same in performance, as is 4350, but the first two meter a lot better....4064 has been the accuracy powder for ions...

That said, today I just use RL-15 and the more I use it the better I like it..in a lot of big bore calibers, in fact ALL big bores so far.

Here's mine. I have used it on wildebeest, eland, zebra, and kudu.

I have very good results with the following .375H&H load:

CCI Large Magnum primer
70 Grains of VV150 (Vithavuori)
300 gr. Hornady RN

It gives 2550 fps and a comfortable recoil for this caliber.
