The extra large 20 round, plastic slip cases (partitioned bottom and slide over top cover) by MTM that will handle up to 600 Nitro.
Or, use an MTM box for 20 or 12 guage shotgun shells for brass or ammo bulk storage, or make your own custom wooden box, or get one of the GI ammo cans that fit 50 BMG, and put styrofoam or cardboard spacers along the side walls, bottom and even on the top, as a lining and padding to protect the brass, then just pile the cases in there like fire wood. A smaller GI ammo can for .223 or .308 can be used for empty brass, with the cases standing upright.
For travel with loaded ammo, the wallet sized smaller packages, or the MTM slip cases above, makes sense.

pc, I got some J&J 20 round ammo boxes for 600 NE at a gun show for $2 each that fit the 585 just right. I bought all they had and I have not seen them again for about 2 years.

thanks for that mate, I have e-mailed them about availibility in Australia.
Thanks for your offer Rodger, if they can not send them I will take you up on that and send you a money order for the required amount. My mate whom laso has a .585 will most likely want some to.
As always top blokes with top advice, thanks heaps.

PC Shooters Wholesale Warehouse in the ACT has MTM products cheaper than anywhere I've found in AUS. http://www.shooters.com.au/ I use the "H50 XL" model which holds 50 rounds works fine for my improved 505Gibbs case. My cases are 76.5mm long plus bullet so your (shortened?)585 should be no problem length wise. The squares in the tray are 11.5mm*11.5mm. I just bought another 7, they were $15.55 each.

.416, thanks for that mate. I have two xl h-50's but the Nyati rounds are a real tight fit after the lids closed, so Tight you have to fight with the big buggers to get them out. It would suffice in a pinch. Thanks for the tip all the same, I will get my MTM stuff from there now.
