Whitworth - floor plate pops - ??
Well i finally shot my new whitworth .375 h&h today. It was pretty accurate and comfy to shoot. However, the floor plate would pop open under recoil. It is an inside the bow release, not a push button. I remember it being discussed but can't find it.

Is there a fix for it? Is the push button type better? Any suggestions openly welcomed...

The "catch" on the hinged floorplate on my .458 Win mag is filled with epoxy to render it non-functional. Don't want it to "function" after 1 shot @ a critter that needs 2 or 3 more...and find my magazine has emptied to the ground @ my feet.
cheers,
Don

Thanks guys,
After looking at it the "tab" that goes into the catch seems a bit small as well. It could be a combo problem I guess. Love the rifle though.

its not .. replace the spring .. order a spring kit from midway (wolff) and cut a new spring 3 or 5 coils longer
