This caliber seems to be totally dead on the forums. That is surprising on this site given Saeeds use of the 375/404 for everyhing that moves.

I like the idea that it will equal top 375 H&H ballistics with all sorts of loads and powders. But at the same time if you feel the urge to have some 270 or 300 magnum type ballistics you push the 270 grainers to 3000 f/s

Australia should soon receive some Model 70s in 300 Ultra. I can feel a JGS reamer and barrel coming this way

I am thinking that the 375 Ultra just might be the most practical "big banger" out there when components and recoil are considered.

A shame that that the cases have Remington written on them

I should think this cartridge would go over better than some of the others, given this bore is about where that case can really make a difference. If/when WW chambers it in the M70 interest will likely go up.

Well I hope to be doing some reloading done on my new 375rum in the next couple of months, after the winter indoor honey do's are done. Ya know while the snow is on the ground and the wife wants new paint, wallpaper and flooring put in. I guess there is a price to pay when I live at the range down the street. But am looking forwad to working up some bear stopers for the rum

Can you say ".375 Dakota". Fits in a standard action and provides more umph than the H&H without being overbore.

Ditto Zero Drift - The Dakota and the .375 Weatherby make the most sense in my view assuming one feels he needs a touch more than the H&H. Any field advantages existent via the .375 RUM or .378 Weatherby will be realized by a select few riflemen.

I really didn't realize how huge the 300 RUM case was until my last trip to the shop.

That case, necked up to 375, looks like one heck of a nice combination.

What other wildcats, or factory loads, have been based on this case?

IMO

Remington has a good idea with the 375 RUM. Should be a dandy!
However my choice would be to have it in a Model 70 classic! No push feeding for this cartridge. Remington only gets part of the way.
