Still don´t get it how it works. I have asked Ruger’s people about the recoil plate in my RSM 375 H &H and here is their answer: “The recoil plate does not protect the stock by its weight but rather from distributing the effect of the recoil to multiple locations in the stock rather than a single location. This spreads out the recoil in the stock and prevents breakage of the stock.†To me there is only a couple of small screws that hold the recoil plate in place and I guess it remains steady by the sandwich pressure between the barrel and the stock forearm. Can you help me to understand the trick and tell me how tight these screws should be, since the recoil plate’s hole is real easy to bend with pressure? | ||
