After experiencing a case head separation in my 470 double and then noticing that all the rest of my fired brass looked weak in the web area, only after a few (two to three) loadings (Norma brass), I was curious: What is the experience of the others on this forum with brass life in their 470 doubles? And no, I do not load hot. Thanks for the answers.

Pick up some BELL brass, the Norma stuff is too light! Is the rifle new or an old one? Though I suspect the problem is the Norma Brass, if the brightness is mostly on one side, and the case head is out bent of line with the case, then you may have an off face, or springy action problem! I think the Bell brass will solve your problem, however!

MAC Actually it is a fairly new Searcy with only a couple of hundred rounds thru it. This rifle is tight and strong.

You should have Butch check it out. Also check the headspace of ammo(rim thickness) compared to specs and other brass. With moderate loads cases should go 10=20 rounds. Most important check the resized base size to see how much your dies are working the brass.IE- it don't need to be many thousands under nominal size to work in chamber, but if sized too small will stretch like hell.Ed.
