Need some advice hear. I have been reading everything posted here about the 375 H&H, different Manufactureres and everything about the new 375 Ruger. I have been looking to add the 375 H&H to the gun safe so to speak. I had an opportunity to buy a new Remengton 700 SKC?stainless, in the box new with synthetic stocks for less than 900 bucks and didn"t pull the trigger, mainly because I haven't read much good about the heavier bores in a Remington. I need some input incase I get another opportunity on the gun, thanks in advance for the help. drwes

drwes,

the Remington PF system seems to generate an inordinate amount of controversy here and other forums. Consensus is that a CRF bolt action is likely to be more confidence-inspiring on a DG hunt. Personally, I would prefer a CRF rifle in anything where my quarry may reverse the roles. I would consider looking into a M1917 Remington or M30S and build one. The fat belly version would hold about five rounds of 375. Option "B" would be to just buy a CZ550 Magnum in 375 and carry six of those cruise missiles in the magazine.

Hello,
Check into the Ruger RSM in 375HH. Excellent rifle for the purchase price these days and it is ready to go hunting out of the box, no major aftermarket issues and has all the features custom rifles would have, but near 1/3 the price. Believe it is a great rifle for the price and even though current MSRP is $2200.00 you can buy one for the mid teens if you shop a bit. Good Luck.

You will not regret the purchase of a good 375 H&H. It could very well become the rifle you reach for when you can't decide which one to get because it will do just about anything reasonably well.

I do think the PF or CRF thing is a bit overrated. But I've never hunted anything more dangerous than a wild hog. I would say that confidence and experience in the specific weapon is more important than its feeding method.

My 375 H&H is a CZ. Love the gun but it is a bit heavy and needed work to smooth it up.
