Hey guys, Need some help here, looking for pics of 416 Taylors, all are welcome but on a Springfield is the major search. see, having one built for my stepfather on an 03a3, wife and I (read "me, with permission") are having the metal work done and I am doing the stock. My mom has paid for the dies, proper stamped brass, and bullets (probably will be split up and paid for by my brothers later so they all give something). And mom is buying the blank. Here is the deal, this is all a surprise for him for Christmas, it just happens that they also re-financed their house and he has been talking a lot about if I find a Taylor on a Springfield for a good price to tell him, even on a mauser he said he would go for it. It is his dream gun. So I thought that teasing him with a couple of pics might be in order. Neither he nor I have ever seen ANY big bore on a springfield by the way (I know, 416 is large medium, blah blah). THANKS! Red

Red: I have a .416 Taylor, I built it on an old Mark X action, with a 22 inch # 5 Shilen barrel. I mounted a PME side swing safety on it after replacing the streamlined shroud with a standard military shroud. I mounted a Williams Short ramp with an Ivory bead on the barrel, and installed a Williams adjustable peep sight on the receiver. I stocked it myself with a fine piece of walnut with an African Blackwood tip cap, I finished it with an oil finish. I checkered it at 16 diamonds per inch to give a good grip. I also put in two cross-bolts and glassbedded it full length. Two finish it off, I installed uncle-mikes flush mount QD sling swivels and a 1 inch Decelerator pad. I am getting MOA groups with my standard load of 350 gr. speers. The rifle weighs in at 8.5 lbs. I will try to get pictures so you can see the rifle as soon as possible. Hans

I don't believe this! I know that there are 20 guys on this board at least that have Taylors, and none of you want to show them off? Do I need to go over to the African Forum? Or should I post it on Medium Bores? Red

My Taylor is built on a Browning BBR action, with a Richard's Microfit Laminate stock. Doesn't sound like my pictures will be of interest, but I'll happily post them if you want. I don't think you'll find many pictures of Taylor's built on the Springfield here (at least I can't recall any). Cheers, Canuck
