Navy Arms 45-70 Summit Carbine
For all you 45-70 fans, Navy Arms should have the Summit carbine out now. I shared a row with Val Forgett on the flight to RSA and he said it would be available by Oct. He was taking one to RSA to a PH friend there for evaluation.

Is that the same as/similar to the Gibbs Rifle Summit 45-70 Carbine?

That's the one. He told me they hoped to sell 4000 of the original carbines and got orders for 20,000. They didn't sell that many but the interest was there. They are also set to make Enfield receivers in Arizona when the supply dries up.

Too bad for me they are too late. I have no moeny because of school. Plus from now on, I should be able to build what ever I want, myself.

2 years ago I would bought one, tho.

Gents,
Been hearing that for years,I had on built locally. I will believe that they are available when I have seen it and handled it myself. Meanwhile I will just shoot mine........45nut

Well, The one that was supposed to be used in Mozambique never made it to Joberg. Or at least it never made it to customs. I had an email from a friend that Mr. Forgett never got his guns. SAA is still looking. Next year he (Val) plans to go back and do a proper hunt with replica arms that Navy Arms and Gibbs sells.
