I have been shooting my Ruger rsm 458Lott with 458winmag.brass loaded with 400gr.speer bullets and i get 100yrd.bullseyes cloverleafs with the first flip up blade, and to get the same group with 350gr.Hornadys,I have to flip the second blade up..Does this sound normal for the express sights at that range?anyone else experiance this with these bullet weights? Thanks for any help

Considering that you're shooting loads in brass the rifle is not chambered for, containing bullets of a weight not 'standard' for even the cartidge you are using, you're forunate that your bullets hit point of aim. Tpyically, factory iron sights are just installed. They don't follow the trajectory of your loads, requiring the leaf (or leaves) to be adjusted (often by filing). Yours are not only dead-on, they're dead-on with the wrong brass and bullets. Try them with full-power .458 Lott loads, and see how they work. George

I second GeorgeS's statement. My RSM shoots 6" low at 8 o'clock with 458 WM 400 grains but closer to point of aim at 50 yds with LOTT 500 grains. Never follow a bad move with a stupid move.

mine hits about 12 inches low and 3 inches left at 100 yards with iron sights. did not think about filing the sights. might have to look into that.

390ish,try a shorter/lower front sight bead if you can, that should raise the bullets up alot. Hope this helps,,,,Also I rechecked off the bench and was shooting poi with the 350gr. but hitting 3 inches left but great group, iam gonna stick with the 400gr.since they shoot so accurate and use the remaining 350gr.loads for foulers/plinkers,iam satisfied with the 400 gr.loads and can pick my shots with them..awsome accurate & great Fun,I just wished i had found out how fun these rifles are years ago,oh well "better late than never"...
