Bill/OregonRemington has been telling people December or January. There's a guy on the forum who has one, but he's not shooting it and not even sharing pictures unless I have missed the thread.

Well there is a guy who is a proven troll who claims the above. He doesn't have pictures of any of the things he's claimed to have or have done.
Oh.... Excpet the time when he was posting under a different handle he posted a bunch of pictures of somebody else and claimed it to be himself.

jeffeossoDunno if that fella has one or not, as remington told me in june that "several had been released to key distrubutors", but this fella claims his says baikal not spartan... which stuck me as odd, in that why would remmie put out another companies name when scroll "engraving" is so cheap.
Remington, and eaa before them, had a habit of saying "4 to 6" months down the round.. call on month 2, and it's still 4 to 6.. ot 6 to 8, months away.
i think the project is snake bit

WannabeBwanaTalked to a Baikal rep here in Canada last week. He's saying December, now. They've had "thousands" of inquiries about them here.
Apparently, Remington is changing the wood and reworking the ones they're getting, so they'll be a bit nicer rifle. IF they ever make if off the assembly line!

As soon as their engineers decide where to attach the bolt handles.....and if to solder, braze, silver solder, or TIG them on.

What are the emails and phone numbers?

Smoker*Hey Guys,
Thanks for the responses...Maybe Remington is just trying to jack-up the price by making people wait...
Thanks again,
Smoker

WannabeBwanaSorry, S99, have none. I was just yackin' with a rep who was at a gun shop open house last week.
Another rep tried to steer me toward a "Blah-ser" double. I told him if I had that kind of money to spend, I sure wouldn't be spending it on a Blaser.

Dear Mr. Powell,
We appreciate your patience. The SPR22 has not been distributed at this time. We hope to begin distributing them later this Fall or by early Winter to Remington Wholesalers.

They have a Q&A system on the Remington website, and I believe the phone number is listed. That is what I used when I got the response I posted three or four weeks ago.

Savage99Just hoping you would find it for me.
How about this "Are the barrels of the SPR22 double rifles regulated to the same point of aim for both barrels? If so, what are the tolerances?
Question
Are the barrels of the SPR22 double rifles regulated to the same point of aim for both barrels? If so, what are the tolerances?
Answer
There is a jack screw that allows you to regulate the point of aim on the barrels. The left barrel is considered a fixed barrel and the right is a floating barrel. The fixed barrel is set at 50mm."

Well, it seems to me a couple of importers have been promising this brand of SXS doubles for a few tears so far, without delivering.
It remains to be seen if Remington will be able to do any better!!

Frank MartinezI just recently returned from working in the LA area and visited a dealer there who had one of the Spartan SXS 12ga. shotguns. He had been at the shot show and handled, seen and ordered a brace (3 I think) of the 45-70 guns. He said they were nearly identical except for the little screw mechanism that will be used to regulate the 45-70.
The stock is a throwaway and the sights left me pretty cold also so if it is any indication of what the 45-70 looks or feels like I would pass and forget it. I guess I am not that anxious to bite that much of a pill.

jeffeossoFrank,
saw several remington spartan shotguns at the past show.. I wouldn't throw the wood away, it would need an EPA permit!!!
BUT, the metal work has a "good" problem, yeah, it's ugly, but there's a bit too much of it... which is far better than too little
on the over and under shattergun, the stocks are 1/8 on ALL sides too big... but the "wood" on an sks looks good in comparision!!!
So, I am still looking forward to the spartan in 45/70.. like all remingtons, they are going to be a good place to start from
