What do you guys think about the Blazer R93 in 375 H&H. It's always so quiet when the goldfish die.(Bror Blixen) DRSS Merkel 470 NE

The Blaser is a great rifle...accurate, compact, and takes down for travel. I have several of them, along with 8-10 barrels. My only recommendation with the 375 is that you might want to put Blaser's Kick-Stop in it. The Blaser is a pretty light platform for a full-house 375 load. Go for it.

Biebs is right--they are light! I had a semi weight and it was brisk with even the heavier barrel. Ed DRSS Member

Rem: I have a Blaser with two barrels, 30-06 and 9.3X62. I opted for the 9.3X62 because at dangerous game range, I think it will do everything the .375 H&H will do with a lot less recoil and it uses the same bolt face as the 30-06. I say go for it but pick the 9.3X62 instead. I own a 270 R93 and bought a 375 Safari Stocked R93. Haven't received the barrel as of yet due to the licensing system, but have used a 416 barrel and must say that I am very happy with my choice. The heavier barrel and kickstop definately reduce the recoil, and if you do add a kickstop, the heavier barrel helps with balancing. You can always download the 375 to 9.3 ballistics, and a 300 Win Mag barrel will also go along nicely with no need for a change of bolt head. What loads do you plan on using? Whatever his acts, they are dictated by his own conscience, rather than by a mob of onlookers. It is difficult to exaggerate the importance of this fact."

For the 375 H&H , I prefer to have a Mauser action than a Blazer action behind my face.

I have an R93 with .375 and .300 barrels and love it. Very accurate, lovely trigger, repeatable return-to-zero with the Blaser QD scope mount, 15 second takedown...what's not to like? Mine has the straight, American-style stock, which I find much better for dealing with recoil than the Euro-style hogback stock. I see no need for the kickstop device, but in fairness I must admit that several of my shooting friends find it unpleasant to shoot and prefer the Euro stock. Either way, a wonderful and practical hunting rifle.

RSM, Just for clarification, Blaser makes 375 barrels in regular contour (thickness) and Safari (heavy) contour. If you choose the heavier Safari contour barrel, the forend needs to be changed to one with a wider inlet to accomodate the fatter barrel. There's a 3rd contour (Semi-weight...in between the other 2) but I don't want to confuse the issue. The 375 is the heaviest caliber Blaser makes in a "regular" contour. I have an Attache' with the heavy Safari 416 Rem barrel and forend. The weight helps reduce recoil and muzzle rise.

I have the R93 375 H&H safari (heavy barrel and kick stop). It's a soft shooter, and I have had nothing but a good experience with it.

Just a great rifle and caliber - that's all there is to say about it. I have killed several tons of game with my Blaser R93 in .375. Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer.

I have an R93 in 375 and 9.62. The 375 barrel is regular contour. I had it magna-ported and the recoil is not bad. Very accurate.

I have a Blaser R93 in .416 Rem Mag and 9.3x62 and a Blaser R8 in .500 Jeffery. They are fine rifles, accurate and dependable. In fact, used the R93 with the 9.3x62 barrel to take a buck on opening morning last weekend at 165 yards. Mike

Thanks for all the advice. I allredy have a semi- custom M70 in 375 Ruger but I like the concept of the switch barrel on the Blazer and the way it breaks down for travel. It's always so quiet when the goldfish die.(Bror Blixen) DRSS Merkel 470 NE
