| Hi Ed: I made an error. This is a 12 bore. The previous owner said it was a 10 and I just checked. The chamber is 2" total. The action apears as an oversize Husky .22 action. The muzzle is 1/8" thick. Thanks |

| Husqvarna did make a harpoon/line throwing gun. It sounds like that is what you have. A picture would confirm that.

| Steve: I presume that is what this is. I figure they must have slid a rod down the bore with maybe a washer type "o" ring to center it and keep it from falling out. I will get photos as soon as I can. I am not that capable with the camera / computer thing yet. It is a neat gun to handle. |

| Tanker; There were a whole bunch of accessories that came with the gun including a harpoon. I had the opportunity to buy one of these complete with a harpoon, but thought the seller wanted too much for it. Now that I am a more advanced Husqvarna collector, I wish I would have bought it. There is a thread about the harpoons guns on the Swedish Commercial forum. I am a newbie here so I don't know if I can post a link to another forum or else I would. Email me and I will pass it on to you.

| Steve: I found some info. It is a HVA Model 47 Harpoon Gun. Chambered for 12ga. / 45mm. Less than 200 were made between 1933 and '35. Some were used as line guns in Singapore. Now I guess I need a harpoon...and a whale problem. Thanks. |

| Tanker, you could always take your Husky hog hunting, if you cannot find any problem whales. I would think harpooning a big boar, would be almost the adrinaline rush as the original "Nantucket Sleigh Ride". Hog Killer

| HogKiller: That would be almost as much fun as when I shot at a nice grouper facing me and the spear went in his mouth and out a gill never touching him but leaving him on the line. He was off like a shot dragging me accross the reef at warp speed in a cloud of silt. Finally when he stopped I followed the line into a murky cave, pinched his eye sockets and up he went 65 ft. to the surface. I was one cut up bloody mess. He was 40 odd lbs. of really good eating. |

| Man, now I'm hungry! Grilled Grouper at Crabby Bill's in Clearwater Beach! Can hardly wait until May when I am heading back there for a week or so. quote: Originally posted by Tanker: HogKiller: That would be almost as much fun as when I shot at a nice grouper facing me and the spear went in his mouth and out a gill never touching him but leaving him on the line. | Steve: I ate there when I went to Clearwater for the failed CADA show. I am a big crab fan. We waited for hours but the crabs were micro. The waitress then told me she should have ordered something else. Rats. Crabs are their big deal. We have some seriously good garlic blue claws here. Actually when it comes to fish, anymore the choice is usually fresh snook caught off the dock. Snook is right up there on the ultimate list along with polished steel, oiled walnut, dental floss , and high heels. Damn, I'm hungry too! |
