Gentlemen, I'd like some input on the new slimmer Hawkeye stock. I've been holding out for the new "Alaskan" 375 Ruger but I must admit that I'm leary of the blocky Hogue stock. I finally put my mitts on an "African" version and I was most impressed w/ the new stock. I've always felt comfortable w/ the older blocky style mkII stock, but this slimmer design is a huge improvement to me. The "African" version felt so right in it's balance and feel that I'm now having second thoughts on the "Alaskan". I've not handled one of the new Hawkeye "All Weather" models but Ruger claims that their new synthetic stock mirrors the slimmer wood "African" stock. If this is so, can anyone offer a reason why Ruger did not put this synthetic version on the "Alaskan" model? I noticed that the "All Weather" Hawkeye is available in 358Win, so the barrel channel can't be but so far off from working on an "African" or "Alaskan". Can anyone confirm that one of the new Hawkeye "All Weather" stocks can be used on the 375Ruger?? I'd appreciate any input on this as I'm on the fence right now. Thanks, GVA | ||
