For those (like myself) who have suffered with big bore No. 1's with the factory pad:

I purchased and installed Limbsaver Airtech # 10800 pad. The fit is not bad, with the pad being a drop narrow. The length of pull is increased about 3/8".

The pad DOES NOT match up to the factory screw holes (the pad holes are too close together). So you can grind out the pad holes or drill new ones. I opted to drill new holes. Limbsaver said I could enlarge the existing holes, but it looked like the screw heads would interfere with some of the rubber in the pad so I opted to drill new ones.

fyi there is a Classic pad (#10001) which is the same size and same hole pattern.

Range report forthcoming...

So how does it do for WRT recoil damping?

I have Limbsavers on a .338, .405. and a couple of other big bores and can not complain.

I just have to have a better fit, im funny that way! I would sand that down to fit or buy a wider pad..
