Australia
I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of drought and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror
The wide brown land for me!

TOP,

If you are using Barnes Xs, you won't need any solids. They are all I'd take.

Love my Sako .375 H&H, and would think that the Swifts should be more than adequate for your needs.

I like solids for some situations. Ask your outfitter what he recomands. If some solids, you won't go wrong with Woodleighs.

I used 300gn barnes X bullets in my Sako .375 H&H in africa on cape buff and plains game, they performed perfectly. Basically the Barnes X bullet is a expanding solid, and if they shoot well (accurately) in your rifle, then go for it! some will say the copper fouling is a issue , this only matters if you don't clean your firearm regularly.

They also have a 300gr TSX that is suppose to
foul less and be 100 fps + or - faster.

A friend of mine has a stainless synthetic sako in .375 h&h. Last year he bought some trophy bonded sledgehammer solids that were 300 grains. We did some penetration tests into wood. At first we couldn't find a tree with a base big enough to stop one and then we couldn't line up enough in a row to stop it. We finally ended up cutting down a pine tree and shot up it lengthwise. The bullet penetrated about 7 feet of solid wood. My .338 with a 250 partition went about 2 feet just a little ahead of the .375 shooting a 260 accubond. So if you are going to shoot solids the moral of the story is make sure there is nothing behind what ever you are shooting at.

Oh yeah I forgot, we recovered the solid that went 7 feet into the tree and it was still perfectly intact. It only had rifling marks in it, the T on the top of it wasn't even affected.(the trophy bonded sledgehammers have a T on the top of the bullet)
