As always pictures speak a thousand words and I just wanted to share a young man's talent. [IMG:left] [/IMG] [IMG:left] [/IMG] [IMG:left] [/IMG] [IMG:left] [/IMG] [IMG:left] [/IMG] [IMG:left] [/IMG] I met a young entrepreneur not long ago whom I had the enjoyment of discussing and seeing first hand many of his creations. Both of us being sportsman our conversation soon turned to hunting gear and rifle slings were one of the topics we discussed. He soon proposed to make me two rifle slings, he wouldn't take payment, just asked me to let me people know when asked where I got them if I truly liked the slings. I picked up one of the slings this week and wow was I truly impressed, he called the one in the images the African Big Game Series. What was truly amazing to me was that the lion and the buffalo were hand burned into the leather with a soldering iron, they were not copied or stamped but truly made by hand. The quality of the sling is superb, everything was hand sewn using very high quality thread. Upon comparing this sling to others I own of similar design is was very apparent how robust this sling was made. I couldn't resist putting it on a few of my rifles and sharing the pictures on AR as I thought many of you would appreciate his work. I also very quickly asked if he would be willing to put Cape Buffalo, Leopard, and Rhino as offerings of choice on the sling ends and he said absolutely and that he would customize the sling however an individual wanted along with offering different types of sling material canvas, nylon....ect. The second sling is almost complete, he said it was the Signature Series and would not have the animal images and would be of a similar construction regarding the hook and keeper style of some of the slings on the market today. He did mention that it would of course be using the same materials and would be just as robust as the one he gave me this week. I'll post a few pictures of that one as well when it is finished if anyone is interested, he mentioned the sling without the animal images would run around $100. I have also had a few conversations with him about making a few rifle cases for me using a buffalo back skin and he was all for that, none the less I hope you enjoy the pictures and appreciate the art work and craftsmanship as much as I do. Im going to try and encourage him to become a member here on AR and possibly post a few items in the Classified section and if anyone would have any interest in having a sling made shoot me a PM and I'll put you in contact with him as does not have website yet and operates using his personal cell and email.

eyeman, Yes, he is doing work for others interested in his work, so far it has been primarily local individuals. He is still in the early stages of building the business and from what I gathered in a short amount of time he would be building a website and trying to get his name out there.

I have no use for a sling but I sure think that guy has some talent, his animals are outstanding and that's rare indeed... Ray Atkinson Atkinson Hunting Adventures 10 Ward Lane, Filer, Idaho, 83328 208-731-4120 rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com
