Hello, as I said in another post, entitled "madness", I'm saving to buy a rifle's caliber Winchester Magnum 458. The purchase of weapons will be very long term, but I am interested in this caliber, especially in the precision of rifle Ceska 550 caliber Magnum in this powerful and reverse it generates. Too sharp perhaps? Although measure 173 centimetres and weighing 82 kilograms jejeje. Well and you can tell me everything that happens you of 458 Winchester Magnum. Forgive the inconvenience.

Sincerely,

Oscar. bsflag

I love my CZ550 in .458 Win Mag. I used it last year on an elephant hunt and this year as my back up rifle on my elephant hunt.

Pros:

- Holds five in the magazine.
- Accurate.
- Relatively inexpensive.
- Reliable.
- Heavy and so recoil is not problematic.

Cons:

- Stock is sort of "clunky".
- A three position safety would be nice.
- Heavy to carry.
- Some are not bedded and cross bolted.

Thanks for your answer, I have a Ceska in 375 H & H Magnum and I feel a bit heavy indeed. I'm saving little by little, and I hope it will not rise much from these price rifle. Here in Spain cost about 950 euros, which is not nothing wrong.

Thanks companion,

Oscar.

I like my CZ550 .458 Win Mag! I have not shot it at anything but paper as of yet but it is very accurate (in my limited big bore experiance). Recoil is very managable for me and I am 177 cm & 80 kilos (if I did my conversions right Smiler) so pretty close to your size. It did take me a little while to work up from my .375 H&H. 1st time I shot it with 500 grain bullets at 2000+ FPS it slapped me pretty good. After 100 total rounds in 5 range sessions, I find it pretty easy to shoot.

Standing with a .458WM with a firm grip is an experence, but a piece of cake. Thats with max loads.

Bench-resting is another kettle of fish.

How do you like Aussie english, El-Spanish?

Thank you for your answers, the truth is that strengthened my conviction to buy a rifle in the Ceska powerful African cartridge. It is not a cartridge to practice plinking, but to find joy from time to time to throw some shots, as well. Jal Incidentally, I did not understand your last question despite having used the translator.

Thank you for everything,

Oscar.

He is asking:
How do you like his Australian English vs. British English vs. American (Yanky) English vs. Southern American English...? Smiler

It is kind of like spanish from Spain, vs. spanish from Cuba vs. spanish from Mexico. Each dialect is slightly different.

I'm supprised you got any of it.

Translation. .458 WM is good for plinking, up to elephants. Fun to shoot standing without a rest, not so funny of a bench-rest.

Australian english can be hard to understand even for Australians. I try to avoid it usually.

Good luck with a CZ, you'll need it. (Sarcasm here.) Smiler

Jejeje, indeed, every variety of a common language has variations. I understand little English learners, always use translators, so I imagine. Thanks to wish him well, try to achieve it. Lol.
