tmoranNew 375 Ruger Alaskan Stainless Coating?
So, has anyone looked at Ruger's new webpage showing the "stainless" 375 Alaskan with a black coating? I'm wondering what type of coating they are applying over stainless.

lavacaTeflon would work, but IMHO, a flat black Krylon spraypaint would be more durable. I know I'll get flamed for that comment, but it's a ss synthetic stock anyway -- it's clearly all about function. And don't get me wrong, I've got rifles like that that I love for what they do, they're just not too easy on the eyes. Nor were they meant to be.

tmoranActually, I have the African stock on it. Also, I'd go the duracoat way long before Krylon. Haven't been all that impressed with duracoat.

NorthGaAireIs the Ruger Alaskan coating durable enough?? anybody spent enough time toting one of these that would care to comment?
