My Tang action Ruger has a magazine box length of ~3.3" give or take the 416 Ruger has a max COAL of ~3.60" so you will have to seat the bullets roughly 0.300" deeper.

My 416 Taylor loaded to 3.26" COAL and 510 Makatak loaded to 3.28-3.29" work just fine in the M77 Tang and don't leave much room in the length department, so you will have to do some fiddling and measuring to be sure if you want to use a Ruger Tang action.

I don't know if the magnum Ruger Tang models had a longer magazine but if you have one I would appreciate you measuring the mag length and posting it.

I have several McGowen barrels...including a 20 cal I'm chambering now...they are very good barrels. Jeffe is definitely right...I almost had McGowen do me one of Jeffe's 500 AR's instead of doing my own 510 Makatak thing.

A Ruger is just another receiver...nothing real special and easy to rebarrel...any good 'smith can do the work.

Luck

if you have a magnum boltface tang safety, its nothing to rework .. in fact, its not hard to rework a .473, but the mag is easier ..

its just a rebarrel ..
